Kate Smith is fast becoming one of the UK’s most in-demand songwriter / vocalists within the dance world.

Her release, ‘See The Sun’, a collaboration with world renowned DJ Matt Darey /Urban Astronauts (song written and vocalled by Kate) currently remains at the top of the trance charts, spending over 6 weeks in the number 1 position on Beatport. ASOT also named the track among the top 20 trance records of 2009. The Aurosonic mix has so far been the No 1 play listed record on 46 Radio stations in 19 countries. A hit with all the biggest club DJ’s including Armin van Buren, Paul van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz and more.
The year 2011 will see many appareances from Kate on big records, prepare for big time collaborations! Dutch trance pioneer duo Signum had the honour making a track with Kate which is also the first single of their debut artist album.

Kate writes and performs for a variety of established acts and artists in various styles. Her material is available on a whole host of labels including Hed Kandi, Ministry Of Sound, EMI Positiva, Drizzly, Universal, Virgin, Asgard, Sony BMG and many more. Kate has released a cross/genre solo record called ‘Both Sides of the Sun’ which Kate wrote and recorded during 2009 and the stunning album sees Kate return to her earthy / folky roots.

Kate has previously written for and featured on multiple dance tracks but is perhaps best known for the song she wrote and vocalled for ‘Soulseekerz’ (2007) ‘Party For the Weekend’ (EMI Positiva) made it twice to the Number 1 position in the UK Club charts and appears on over 30 compilation albums. Her debut dance track, ‘Whatever, Keep Me Guessing’, back in 2004 for Solasso was quickly snapped up by Hed Kandi and is still a best loved tune with DJ’s the world over.
